Honoring a Visionary: The late Prof. (Dr.) Shamnad Basheer was an exceptional legal luminary who blazed a trail of change, leaving an indelible impact on the legal fraternity. His trailblazing initiative, IDIA (Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access), revolutionized legal education by opening doors for underprivileged students to enter the legal arena. His pioneering efforts in reforming India's Intellectual Property Rights landscape and his unwavering belief in the power of public interest litigation shaped the course of legal reform in the country.

Our Vision: In tribute to Prof. Shamnad Basheer's extraordinary legacy, Kshitizz introduces the Prof. Shamnad Basheer Centre for First Generation Lawyers. Our vision is to continue the transformative work he championed, creating a platform that nurtures and empowers first-generation lawyers from marginalized communities. Third World Moot Court Competition & Judgement Writing Competition

We appreciate the participation in the Third World Moot Court and Judgement Writing Competition, and hereby notify that, we are changing the name of the competition into Alluri Sitarama Raju Moot Court and Judgement Writing Competition. The name is being changed because India has progressed severally since independence and is no more faced with an acute lack of basic necessities as is evidenced in third-world nations.

This change of name shall be in effect from the next cycle of the competition.

Sushree Sunanda Sahu, Convenor, Moot Court Committee

She has recently completed her LL.M. from TERI School of Advanced Studies, New Delhi, specializing in Environment and Natural Resources Law. She graduated from National Law University, Visakhapatnam in the year 2021.

She has a keen interest in environmental laws and competition law and intends to make contributions to these fields through research and writing. She has also completed Master of Business Laws from NLSIU, Banglore.

She writes a blog and is open to helping law students in understanding environmental laws better, in a simplified manner.

Founders of Prof. Shamnad Basheer Center For First Generation Lawyers- (SBCFGL)

To assist the first genration lawyers primarily from the marginalised background with certificate courses and competitions.


He is a practicing advocate in the High Court of Judicature in Patna. Coming from rural India and facing economic, social, and political vulnerability, he developed a keen interest in social upliftment and empowerment through education and awareness. He graduated from DSNLU and did his masters in Access to Justice from TISS, Mumbai. He brought his colleagues and friends together for this venture. He was also selected for Teach for India and Goonj Grassoroot fellowship. He was the founding chairman of the organization.   


She is a final year student at ICFAI Law School Hyderabad, currently pursuing a 5-year integrated BA. LLB degree with a specialized focus on Criminal and Cyber Law. She demonstrates a strong motivation for her studies, coupled with a profound interest in matters of law and justice. Her dedication to social justice is evident, and she firmly believes in the transformative potential of the legal field to cultivate a more equitable society. Her interests lie in collaborating with law enforcement agencies to combat criminal activities and ensure public safety. 


Currently pursuing Ph.D. from Lucknow University, he's a passionate research scholar with a stellar academic journey, holding degrees from prestigious universities Like DSNLU, Visakhapatnam, RGNUL, Patiala. Devoted to humanitarian causes, actively contributing as a core member since the NGO's inception. Enthusiastically driven to witness our organization thrive and create a lasting impact on the lives we touch. Together, let's make a difference for good. 

She is a practicing Advocate at the High Court of Judicature in Mumbai. Her passion for law and justice led her to pursue a Bachelor's degree with honors in Constitutional Law from Gauhati University, and later she pursued a Masters’s from (TISS), Mumbai.  Driven by her strong commitment to positively impacting society, she has dedicated her career to the development sector. She works as a Social Worker specializing in legal assistance at Koshish, a field action project of TISS.  She firmly believes that empowering oneself also means empowering the community.
